Other Types of Gifts
In addition to cash, some of our supporters make gifts of appreciated securities, life insurance and real estate. These gifts may provide significant tax benefits regardless of your age, income or financial situation.
Your commitment to our work is the most important reason for making a gift. Once you make that decision, it only makes sense to consider the financial aspects of your gift. We encourage you to first talk with your tax or investment advisor. If you wish, Jackson Rotary Club can provide you with the names of several reputable professionals in the area.
Deferred or Planned Gifts
Perhaps you can't afford to make a significant gift right now but want to ensure that the Jackson Rotary Club remains active in servring the community for many years to come. With a deferred gift to Jackson Rotary Club, you will leave a legacy of hope for and will have a lasting impact on families, communities and society after your lifetime.
Simple bequests of cash or property in a will or trust insures that your assets are used as you wish after you are gone. Forethought and planning by even the smallest estates maximize the assets that are available to pass on to family, friends and charitable organizations.
Depending upon your circumstances, other types of planned gifts such as charitable gif annuities or charitable lead trust may provide additional benefits. Planned gifts can:
- Reduce income, estate and probate taxes
- Maximize use of capital gains
- Pay you income during your lifetime
- Protect your assets
Although planned giving can be easy, it's important to get professional guidance through a qualified attorney, accountant or investment advisor. As a start, call or email us for a brochure titled Charitable Planning Strategies. In addition, we would be happy to provide you with the names of qualified professionals who specialize in this area.
