The Rootstock Festival was held on August 7th & 8th at the Central Jersey Italian American Club(CJIAC).
This is the first of what is expected to be an Annual event.
The Festival was a showing of approximately twenty plus bands and amateur performers who sang and played their hearts out for an audience of approximately 2000 people. Performers ranged in age from 12 years old to 50.
The weather was a comfortable 80+ degrees. People laid out their folding chairs and enjoyed the music and the food. The food was provided by the Rotary Club of Jackson and the CJIAC. Food included sausage and pepper sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, cool drinks and ice cream.
Approximately 35 volunteers from both groups provided the cooking and serving of the food.
This is the first dual sponsored event and based on its success, it will not be the last.
